A ‘Compliment’
Today an American girl said to me, ‘You could get so many drunk girls in Las Vegas!’
At first I was flattered – I was packing my bags – but then I thought about it some more and it turns out that it’s kind of insulting:
What she was effectively saying was that I had the capability to get girls, but first they would have to be intoxicated with alcohol. They’d have to lower their standards and loose their inhibitions before I could ‘get’ them.
And these girls couldn’t be anywhere, oh no, they had to be in Las Vegas! They had to be drunk girls in Las Vegas. A party town. A town with the slogan, ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’, a saying which means anyone who wasn’t there at the time need not know about it and nothing’s gonna be taken seriously while we’re there.
Today an American girl said to me, ‘You would be able to get so many girls if they were pissed and in a no-string-attached environment’.
Jeez girl – thanks for the ‘compliment’!
I’m still gonna go… Sounds awesome!
